DOUGLAS L. (Doug) COLE, 67, of Medford, NJ passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 30, 2017, in Moorestown after a battle with a rare form of dementia.  Doug was born in Northampton, MA, to Jane and Alton Cole on April 13, 1949. With a father in the Air Force, Doug also lived in Colorado, Alabama, Virginia, England, and Connecticut, where he attended E. O. Smith High School in Storrs. He married Jane Thompson Cole on May 31, 1969 in Amherst, MA. He graduated from the University of Connecticut as an ROTC cadet with a degree in Speech & Communications in 1971 and a Master’s degree from Webster University in St. Louis. Doug was a veteran of the first Gulf War and the Grenada Invasion while serving 20 years in the Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, he worked as a pilot for American Airlines for 19 years, substitute teaching in the Medford schools, helping his sons with their small landscaping business, and making deliveries for Spotts Garden Center in Medford on his days off. Doug was an avid golfer, loved spending time at the beach and by his backyard pool with friends and family, and enjoyed keeping his yard looking pristine. Those who knew him well knew he was as honest as they come, willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat, and always put family first.  The family of Douglas Cole wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at CareOne Harmony Village in Moorestown.  Doug is survived by his wife Jane; three children and their spouses, Jeffrey and Stacy, Jennifer and Timothy, and Christopher and Kelly; brothers Barry, Jeff and Ray; grandchildren, Rylie, Payton, Tanner, Brynnley, Braydon, Courtney, Bridgett, and Logan; and many who are proud to call him a friend.  Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, February 2nd from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt.
