Edward A. Carswell Sr.

EDWARD A. CARSWELL SR. of Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28th, 2014 in Voorhees, NJ, with Samaritan Hospice Care.  He was 85 years of age.  Born in Philadelphia, PA he has resided in Southampton for the past 10 yrs, moving there from Tabernacle, NJ, and previously Riverside, NJ.  He was the son of the late Harry and Mary Carswell.  He is a former employee of the Elevator Union Local No. 5 of Philadelphia, PA, where he was an elevator mechanic for 44 years.  He is the Beloved Husband of Mary Carswell (nee McMahon) and the loving Father of Carol Amendola (Thomas), Patricia O’Connor (John) of Southampton, NJ, Maryann Haller (James) of Marlton, NJ, Jane Smith (Keith) of Medford, NJ, and Edward Carswell Jr. (Doreen) of Tabernacle, NJ.  He is also survived by his Grandchildren Joseph Coady, Clare Birch, Thomas Amendola Jr., James Amendola, Diana Linett, James Haller, John Haller, Julie Johnson, Keith Smith Jr., Kelsey Medaglia, Kassidy Smith, Korey Smith, Kody Smith, Edward Carswell III, Karly Carswell, Nicole Konopka and Jamie Carswell, as well as the loving Great Grandfather to 13.  Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday November 3rd from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford-Lakes Road, Tabernacle, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hainesport, NJ.  Funeral Arrangements are through the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home in Medford, NJ.   In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations to be made out to St. John’s Hospice, a men’s homeless shelter, 1221 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19107 (www.BradleyStow.com)
