EDWIN J. FOSTER, JR., 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2016, surrounded by his family, at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Born on January 25, 1950 in Camden, Ed had lived in Tabernacle for the past 36 years.  He was the loving and devoted husband of 43 years to Susan (nee Giardinelli), the proud father of Dennis (Jacky) Foster of Lexington VA, and the adoring grandfather of Kellen and Braden Foster.  He was predeceased by his father, Edwin, Sr., and mother Marie (nee Norton).  He was the loving brother-in-law of Marietta Familiare of Runnemede, Rosalie Giardinelli (Bill Kelly) of Mt. Laurel, the late Emidio (Pam) Giardinelli and Frank (Kathy) Giardinelli of Delran, and Robert (Cindy) Giardinelli of Mt. Laurel, and was loving uncle to ten nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by several cousins, including Scott (Patty) Nelson of Washington Township and Irene and John Foster of Audubon Park, and many friends.  Ed was a 1968 graduate of Camden Catholic High School and a 1972 graduate of St. Joseph’s University.  He served his country as a member of the Army Reserves, and for 33 years was a valued and dedicated employee of the United States Government, working as a logistics expert at NAVAIR (Naval Aviation) at Lakehurst Naval Base.  He was a longtime parishioner of Holy Eucharist Roman Catholic Church in Tabernacle, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  Ed was an active and athletic man, an avid softball player, hockey goalie, and golfer, and was a lifelong and die-hard Phillies fan, following them with Susan every year to spring training in Clearwater, FL.  He was also a dedicated baseball coach for two decades in the Tabernacle Athletic Administration, where his instruction and mentorship positively impacted the lives of many young athletes.  There was nothing he enjoyed more in his later years than playing with his grandsons and traveling the US and the world with his wife, immersing himself in the history and culture of 36 countries on four continents.   Above all, he was a wonderful father and husband and a kind, honorable, funny, and thoughtful man, upon whom many relied for advice and guidance.  He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.  Relatives and friend are invited to his viewing on Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ and on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Holy Eucharist Roman Catholic Church, 520 Medford Lakes Road, Tabernacle, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Donations may be made in Ed’s name to the Holy Eucharist Chapter of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, via the Parish Office.  (www.BradleyStow.com)
