NORMAN CHARLES REBEL of Medford, NJ was Born October 24, 1932 and passed away August 26, 2018 at the age of 85 surrounded by his wife of 67 years Susan Di Chiara Rebel and family.
Norman was the youngest child of Beatrice M. Brade Rebel and William A. Rebel. He had an older sister Evelyn M. Rebel and an older brother William A. Rebel. Norman was born October 24, 1932 at the family home on Kresson Rd. Delaware Township (Cherry Hill) just outside of Haddonfield, NJ. Norman grew up in Collingswood, NJ. He met his wife Susan in 1950 at a dance at St. Mary's Church the day he got his first car. They married the following year. They bought their first house in Maple Shade and started their family. They moved to Medford where they raised their family and called Medford home for the past 54 years. Norman and Susan had four children John Victor, Norman Charles Jr., Susan Elizabeth, and Barbara Jean.
Norman enjoyed family, friends, photography, history, boating, skating, cars, archery, marksmanship, motorcycles and traveling. Norman contributed to the Korean War effort by building air craft, which helped nurture his fascination for history and military vehicles of all types. After retiring from NJ Transit were he had worked as a bus operator; Norman and Susan traveled to all 50 states, Canada, the Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Panama, Europe, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Norman is survived by his wife Susan Di Chiara Rebel, children: Norman C. Rebel Jr., Susan E. Pennisi, Barbara R. Wisener, grandchildren: John A. Pennisi, Melissa L. Rebel, Kristin M. Pennisi, Laura C. Pennisi, Margaret S. Pennisi Rode, Mathew J. Rebel, and three great grand daughters Sophia, Anika, Isla. We will miss your smile, sense of humor, your ability to give us driving direction to and from anywhere and wonderful stories. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, September 4th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary of the Lakes Church, Jackson Road, Medford, NJ.
