Barbara Jane (Adams) Gandy

Barbara Jane Gandy (nee Adams) of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, with her family by her side.  She was 69 years of age. 

Barbara leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Richard.  She is also survived by her daughters: Meghan DiLuzio (Joseph) and Jenna Levy (Michael); her grandchildren: Benjamin, Nora, and Ozella; her brother: William Adams (Linda Carlino); her sister: Jean Cogan (John); her sisters-in-law: Sarah Gowesky and Jessie Heibel (Pud); and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born to the late Hiram and Jean (nee Keim) Adams on August 1, 1953, in Philadelphia, PA.  She met Richard at Merchantville High School, where they played together in the band. Barbara attended James Madison University and graduated in 1975 with a degree in education.  She and Richard married on January 15, 1977.  She taught for five years at The King's Christian School before devoting herself to raising her daughters.  She returned to Merchantville to teach fourth grade in 1995 and retired in 2020.  She was dearly loved by her students.

Barbara was a Christian who loved the Lord.  She was a selfless and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved reading, especially to her grandchildren; they were kindred spirits. Barbara enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Europe with her daughters, but her favorite place was Long Beach Island, where she made many happy memories with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, September  24, 2022 from 10am-11am.  A funeral service will be held at 11am in the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home 127 Medford- Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
