JOHN TERZANO, age 83, of Southampton, NJ, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 1st, 2021. He was born on March 10, 1938 in Burlington, NJ to the late John and Chiarina (nee Sarni) Terzano. He was a lifelong resident of Burlington until moving to Southampton in 2006.
On April 13, 1968 he married Laura Buccellato of Brooklyn, NY, who was blessed to be his bride for 53 years. Because of John’s relationship with Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he led his family well with his quiet and gentle strength and was always there to support and encourage his wife, two daughters and their husbands and seven grandchildren. Church was an important part of his life. He was a deacon of First Baptist Church of Willingboro, NJ and later Easton Union Church of Hainesport, NJ. They loved their ‘retirement’ churches of First Baptist Naples, in Naples, FL and Shawnee Baptist Church in Shamong, NJ. He also served on the board of The King’s Christian School of Cherry Hill, NJ.
A 1956 graduate of Burlington City High School, he went on to receive his teaching degree from Monmouth University in 1963, and received a Master of Education degree from Rutgers University in 1970. For over 34 years, ‘Mr. T’ taught Science at Moorestown Middle School. He loved teaching middle schoolers and had fun playing softball with them during after school activities.
John spent 37 years alongside his wife, serving with The Gideons International by distributing Bibles and sharing missionary stories in churches in the local New Jersey area. John and Laura enjoyed walking the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk as well as spending the winter months in the warmth of Naples, FL. His joy in life was obvious, and his laughter was easy and contagious.
John is survived by his loving wife Laura (nee Buccellato) of Southampton, NJ. John was the loving father of Linda Rebstock and her husband, Erik of Medford, NJ; and Laura Ceton and her husband, David of Grand Haven, MI. He was blessed to be Pop-pop to seven grandchildren: Erika Lyn, Maxwell James, Thomas John, Kate Elizabeth, Andrea Elizabeth, Joel David, and Renée Sydney. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their wonderful families. Without question, he loved his family and Italian heritage.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Chiarina (nee Sarni); brothers Eugene Terzano (Mary) and Walter Terzano (Marie) and sisters, May Simone (Frank) and Laura Smith (George) and nephew Eugene Terzano, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the Fellowship Alliance Chapel, 199 Church Road, Medford, NJ, where a Celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 PM. Inurnment will be private in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington, NJ. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home of Medford, NJ.
