Philip D'Andrea Obituary

Philip T. D’Andrea of Medford, NJ, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the age of 69, now at rest after a long illness.

Born in Melbourne, FL, Phil was the son of the late Geofreddo G. and Jacqueline J. (née Evans) D’Andrea. He spent his early childhood in Wichita, Kansas, before moving with his family to Philadelphia and later Ardmore, PA. For the past 21 years, he has called Medford, NJ, his home.

Phil built a passionate career in information technology and served as a Digital Archivist at Temple University Libraries in Philadelphia for over 40 years. A proud Temple graduate, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 1978 and later completed his Master’s degree in History, combining his love for storytelling, preservation, and knowledge. Being an Owl meant so much to him, and he carried that pride with him throughout his life, passing that love on to his children. He treasured the time he spent attending Temple alongside his daughter, Amelia, where they shared many coffee trips and lunch dates together.  Beyond his career, Phil will be remembered most for the way he lived. He had a deep love for music and spent decades playing bass guitar in bands throughout the Philadelphia area. Music was a constant thread in his life—something he not only enjoyed, but truly felt, rarely going anywhere without it. He found meaning in lyrics, poetry, and history, and was known for his deeply thoughtful nature and the way he understood and interpreted the world around him. He was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan who rarely missed a game and always knew what was happening across his teams, and an avid reader who read daily, often with a book in hand during his train commutes.

Phil was a man of strong values who led by example. He believed deeply in doing the right thing and instilled that in his children.  He cared about the world around him and the people in it—whether it was something as simple as making sure recycling was done properly or as meaningful as regularly donating blood, even going out of his way to do so. His actions reflected a quiet, consistent commitment to kindness, responsibility, and giving back.

Above all, Phil was a devoted husband and a loving father. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth A. D’Andrea, and his children, Amelia, Geoffrey, and Jane, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his brother, Adam D’Andrea (Carol), along with many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 PM at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ, where a Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM. All who knew and loved Phil are warmly invited to attend. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation in support of Alzheimer’s disease research.  Those wishing to honor Phil’s memory may also consider donating blood to the American Red Cross or continuing small acts of care for others and the world around them, in the spirit of how he lived.

Phil will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his quiet strength, his love of music, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
