Cremation Options Cremation Choices to Suit Your Wishes

While cremation is sometimes viewed as involving less ceremony than traditional burial, this need not be the case. We understand the significance of ceremonies and services when a loved one has died. Such traditions can play an important role in the grieving process.

You may wish to maintain some of the long-standing traditions of funeral service by selecting a "Viewing and Funeral Service with Cremation to Follow". This choice allows you to hold a public or private viewing, then a funeral service, either in the funeral home or in a church, with the body present. Because the deceased will be taken to the crematory following the service, we provide the option of a rental casket.

Another option you may choose is a "Cremation With Memorial Service." In this instance, the cremation is performed first, followed by a memorial service, at which time an urn containing the cremated remains may be present. You may also choose such a ceremony to be held without the cremains present.

A final option for families who wish to cremate is "Direct Cremation," which is cremation without any viewing or funeral service. This option includes the most basic services of the funeral director and staff, as described in the Alternative Selections section.
