Edward Joseph Marquart

June 15, 1944 ~ June 24, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old


EDWARD JOSEPH MARQUART of Whiting NJ and formally of Marlton NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Fox Chase Cancer Center on Saturday, June 24th, 2017.  He was 73 years of age.   Born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late George S. and Helen Marquart. Edward, worked for the Acme Warehouse, Philadelphia and in later years for GMP of Trevose PA; when retired he worked as a driver for an Auto Parts company.  He just recently celebrated 33 years of sobriety with AA and was a good friend of Bill W, founder of the organization.  Ed attended Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford, NJ and served with "My Father's Hands" feeding the homeless and less fortunate as well as participated as part of hospitality with the Alpha program.  Ed was also a member of the Christ Evangelical Church in Whiting, NJ, where he served as a greeter for the Coffee House as part of their outreach program.  He was a faithful servant for God and kept his faith strong as he battled for 2 1/2 years with Lung Cancer.  Edward, fought the good fight... he was more than his diagnoses, he was a man of faith, loved the Lord, a man of courage, a fighter, a warrior and a man of great strength.  On this Journey, he found out just how strong he was. He traveled this road with great dignity and was a great inspiration to many.  Edward, is the Beloved Husband of Joy Marquart (Nee Elliott) of Whiting, NJ, formerly from Marlton, NJ and the Loving Father of Kim Zagiel (Jeff), Sharon Pezzano (Sonny), Edward J. Marquart Jr. (Terrie), Amy Olsen (David) and Jennifer Raio (Scott).  Ed is survived by 9 grandchildren who lovingly called him "Pop Pop", Kelly and Karly Mulvaney, EJ Marquart, Jaime, Joey and David Olsen and Rebecca, Aaron and Jessica Raio.  He is the Beloved Brother of Joseph H. Marquart (Donna) also the brother of the late George S Marquart and his late Sister Joan and Brother-in-Law Harry Slater. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family on Friday, July 7th from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ, where a Memorial Service will follow   at 11:00 AM.  A Private Inurnment for immediate family only will follow at the Newtown Cemetery in Newtown, PA.   In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family requests memorial donations to be made in memory of Edward J.
