Henry Frank Remes

Henry Frank Remes, 87, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Wiley Christian Retirement Community in Marlton. Born in Little Ferry, NJ, he was the son of the late Jerry and Mary Remes. He was the devoted husband of the late Alice (née Ross). They were married 52 years. They raised their four children in Clifton, NJ before moving to South Jersey.

Henry was a wise, kind and loving father to his children David (Vera), Nancy (Dave), Mary Anne (Keith) and the late Richard (Fran). He was a doting grandfather to Kristen, Dana, Thomas, Brandon and Brooke. He was the proud great-grandfather to Cole, Harper and Jacob. He was also blessed to have four step-grandchildren, Denise, Kim, Tony and Vince.

After graduating high school, Henry proudly served as a Machinist's Mate Second Class in the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge, he and his best friend Mike Morollo studied  mechanical drafting at the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesman in New York City. Upon graduation, he began a lifelong career in the sheet metal industry. He worked hard, eventually becoming a foreman  for Peter Tani Co. in Clifton. He would say, "Measure twice, cut once".

Henry was a master handyman around the house. There was virtually nothing he could not fix. He would often sing old time tunes while he worked. He also had a stained glass hobby and made many pretty things for friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling corny jokes. 

We are so thankful to God for blessing us with such a wonderful father. We are going to miss his sense of humor, his smile and laughter, the twinkle in his eye and most of all, his love. Although we feel great sadness that dad has passed away, we rejoice, knowing that he is home in the loving presence of our Lord.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, October 25th, from 11 AM - 12 Noon at Wiley Church, 99 E. Main St., Marlton, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at the B.G. William C. Doyle Veteran's Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley and Stow Funeral Home, Medford, NJ.
