Barbara Schulkins Obituary

BARABARA “JOAN” SCHULKINS (nee Newton), of Medford, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024. She was 89 years of age. Born in Delaware County, PA, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Gwendolyn M. (nee Curry) Newton and the wife of the late Wesley Cooper Lilly and the late Lawrence E. Schulkins. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Pamela (and Virgil) Page (Green Forest, AR) and Barbara McCall (Winter Garden, FL) and her grandchildren Matthew Page (Green, Forest, AR), David (and Loren) Page, (Charleston, SC), Thomas “Brooks” (and Kaya) McCall (Fairfield, CA), and Joshua (and Cari) McCall (Orlando, FL). Joan is the great grandmother of Kent McCall (Fairfield, CA).

Joan has resided in Medford for the past eight years and was a native of South Jersey for more than sixty years. She grew up in Springfield, PA and shared many fond memories of her childhood with her late sister, Gwennie Gallo (nee Newton). Joan spent years vacationing with family in Ocean City, NJ and loved to walk the “boards.” Her family meant the world to her, and she thanked God every day for them. Joan loved books and the library and worked as a Library Assistant for the Robert Morgade Library in Stuart, FL. She cared for animals and her patio was a haven for birds, squirrels and a few visiting cats. Since Joan moved to Medford, she has enjoyed the warm companionship of wonderful friends in her community.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt.
