Carl A. Swanson passed away suddenly on February 4, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born in New York City, NY to Dina (nee Carlson) and Arthur Swanson.
Carl was very proud of his service of three years in the United States Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, he began a successful career as an electrician, first with the Brooklyn Navy Yard, then moved his family to NJ and retired after more than thirty years as a foreman at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Carl was an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan whose hobbies included woodworking, trips to Atlantic City, and working on large puzzles. But more than anything he enjoyed having fun with family.
Carl is the beloved husband of Grace (nee Arroya), loving father of Diane (Derek) Finch, and adoring grandfather of Dina (Corey) Johnson and Erika Finch (fiancé Jeremy Gottlieb).
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing in the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055 on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 9AM – 11AM. A funeral service will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at 1PM at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
