CARMEN M.T. BAGGIANO of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 13, 2024, after a courageous 5-year-long battle with cancer. Born on September 15th, 1951 in Weiden, Oberpfalz, Germany, Carmen spent his youth taking care of his younger siblings and excelled at soccer as a child. In 1966, Carmen later moved to the United States and was considered Cherry Hill West High School's soccer star. For the past 14 years, he resided in Southampton, NJ. He retired in 2019 as a chef from Wegmans Food Markets in Mt. Laurel, NJ, following his cancer diagnosis.
In 2001, Carmen met the love of his life, Monique. Their 16-year marriage was filled with love and cherished memories. Together, they enjoyed 22 years of traveling, summers in Beach Haven, and treasured moments with family. An avid soccer fan, Carmen's heart belonged to Manchester City. He loved playing Bocce and pickleball and spending time with friends in their Leisuretowne community pool. He enjoyed spending time with his friend, Tom D'Ambra, and overseas phone calls with his lifelong friend, Dr. Peter Heidenkummer.
Carmen is described by all who knew him as an "Earth Angel." He faithfully loved and protected his sisters, brother, wife, children, and granchildren. He loved children and his joy was most evident when he was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his beautiful heart, optimistic spirit, lighthearted nature, and a roaring laugh that would bring a smile to anyone's face on their worst day.
Carmen was predeceased by his parents, Carmen D. Baggiano and Agnes (nee Brandl) Baggiano; his son, Christopher C. Baggiano; and his brother-in-law, Brian Cobb.
