Darylene Hudson Obituary

Darylene Edith Hudson (nee Bell), 79, of Medford, NJ passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023.  Loving wife to Joseph J. Hudson for 59 years.  Dear mother to Theresa “Terri” Hudson, Karen Wick (Matt) and Joseph Hudson (Kelly).  Beloved grandmother to Zachary (Melanie), Lauren, Brian, Kaylee, Hank, Riley, and Benjamin, and great-grandmother to Kylie Belle.  Sister to Paul Bell.  She is also survived by her many nieces, extended family and lots of forever friends.

Darylene was born and raised in Northfield, NJ, attended Pleasantville High School and met Joe at Guarantee Bank before they moved to Oaklyn, NJ, eventually settling in Medford in the early 1970s.  She was proud of her family and loved cheering them on in everything they did.  Her grandchildren will forever remember the intricate treasure hunts that Grammy planned for them at the Jersey Shore.  Darylene loved traveling the world with Joe and their friends.  Her sense of style was noticed everywhere she went.  She was an avid Philly sports fan (although she did root for the Red Sox for a time) and was always up to play a round of golf.  She loved her ladies’ group at ML Country Club.  She loved sunsets, a nice glass of wine, and a good Jersey tomato.  Most of all, Darylene will forever be remembered for her love of family and friends.

Relatives and friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. to 11a.m. Friday, March 10th at St. Mary of the Lakes Church 40 Jackson Rd, Medford NJ 08055, where a Mass will begin at 11.

Following the Mass, a luncheon will be held starting at 12:30 p.m. to celebrate Darylene’s life amongst Family and friends at Medford Lakes Country Club 70 Oak Drive, Medford Lakes, NJ 08055

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Penn Frontotemporal Degeneration center gift fund at www.med.upenn.edu/ftd/donate.
