DAVID ALAN GRIFFITH, of Philadelphia, PA, sadly passed away on Friday, June 19th, 2026. He was 68 years of age. Born in Mt. Holly, NJ, he was the son of the late Edward L. and Eleanor M. (nee Christie) Griffith. David spent his childhood growing up in Medford Lakes, NJ and has resided in Philadelphia for the past 25 years.
He is the Beloved Father of Christine Hallowell of Medford, NJ and the loving grandfather of Jackson and Benny Hallowell. He is also survived by his siblings Drew Griffith of King of Prussia, PA, Douglas S. Griffith of Marlton, NJ, Donald Griffith (Nancy Day) of Medford, NJ, and Dawn M. Paone (Louis) of Marmora, NJ, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children.
David was a Chef for various restaurants in the Manayunk and Phoenixville area. His specialty in the kitchen was pizza, thus earning him the nickname Pizza Dave. He was a 1976 graduate of Shawnee High School where he played football, basketball and golf. After high school David attended West Chester University.
David will be remembered for his BIG LAUGH, bright smile, silly personality and his ability to bring the fun everywhere he went. Cracking jokes was his speciality and he knew how to make sure everyone was having a great time. David was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and loved going to games. Go Birds!
A Celebration of his Life is planned for Saturday July 18th at Medford Lakes Country Club in Medford Lakes, NJ from 12pm to 4pm. A luncheon will be held starting with remarks and remembrances at 12:15pm.
