Debra Williams Obituary

Debra Anne Williams (Lieutenant), 71, most recently of Tabernacle, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, surrounded by her daughter and their pets.

Loving mother of Elizabeth “Liz” Lieutenant, dog Storm, cats MamaCat and Lily, and grandcats Lucky, Penny, Shadow, and Texi. Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Williams (2012). Sister of Donna Smith and James (Lynn) More, aunt of Lauren More, and cousin of Kathy Templeton, Jill Carlile (2024), and Patti Vance. Predeceased by her parents Donald and Lillian More.

Born in Paterson, NJ, Debra was raised in North Haledon, NJ before receiving degrees in dental hygiene from the University of Pennsylvania (1972) and Fairleigh Dickinson University (1980). She raised Liz in Ridgewood, NJ before moving to Medford, NJ in 1998. Debra practiced as a dental hygienist for several decades in Bergen, Passaic, and Burlington counties. She first met Jack during a vacation at Windermere Cottages, which Jack owned and operated in Stanhope, Prince Edward Island, Canada. They were married in 2003 on July 5, the day before Debra’s birthday, and moved to PEI full-time several years later. Following Jack’s passing, then several health complications from a craniopharyngioma, Debra elected to return to the United States in 2017. Debra and Liz were fortunate to live together for the past 7 years, first in Silver Spring, MD and ultimately returning to New Jersey in 2021. Debra loved nothing more than spending time with her family and pets, caring for others, reading, and gardening. She is now at peace with Jack, the love of her life, after nearly 12 years apart.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral or public services.

Arrangements under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055.
