DOUGLAS WARREN DINKLER, age 56, of Cherry Hill, NJ, stepped into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022. He was born on December 5, 1965 to Bill and Janice (“Judy” nee Hegarty) Dinkler. Doug was a resident of Burlington Township, Marlton and Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
On August 19, 2000 Doug married Karen Beth Witt of Marlton (formerly of Cherry Hill), who was blessed to be his loving wife for over 21 beautiful years. In addition to his wife and parents, Doug is survived by his siblings David Dinkler (Kathleen), Daniel Dinkler (Cindi) and Deborah Garven (Chris) and was a loving uncle to 36 nieces and nephews and 10 great nephews. While Doug and Karen did not have biological children, they were proud to have “adopted in their hearts” many children, teens and young adults to whom they ministered and who they loved deeply and proudly called their kids.
Doug loved Jesus Christ, and he dedicated his life to serving God in the church as a Worship Leader (where he met Karen), Elder and Sunday School Teacher, where he was often dressed in a costume portraying a Biblical figure. Doug and Karen led children’s choirs, where the children rushed to give him hugs. Doug gave the best hugs! Having grown up attending First Baptist Church (Willingboro, NJ), he later attended Easton Bible Church (Hainesport, NJ) and most recently Fellowship Alliance Chapel (Medford, NJ).
Doug had the most kind and generous heart and was driven to serve God in any way he could, always looking for ways to help others in need. As a teen, Doug worked for Harvey Cedars Bible Conference, on Long Beach Island, NJ and later led the Alumni Committee for 10 years. He and Karen implemented the “Adopt a Staffer Program” to provide prayer and encouragement to summer staffers who were living away from home. For the past 14 years, Doug and Karen loved serving the needy in Camden, NJ alongside New Covenant Ministries, and Doug’s gentle and giving spirit will be greatly missed by the ministry team as well as the residents with whom he interacted.
A 1984 graduate of Burlington Township High School, Doug went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Theology from Moody Bible Institute. After college, Doug worked for the NJ State Division of Pensions for over 32 years, where he loved his co-workers who quickly became like family, as they chatted about God’s promises, their families and always about their pet dogs. Doug loved all dogs, but especially cherished his own dogs Sammy, Chester, Spencer and most recently, Theo.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, January 8th, 2022 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM in the Fellowship Center of Fellowship Alliance Chapel, 199 Church Road, Medford, NJ, where a Celebration of Doug’s life will be held at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Parkview Cemetery @ Kirby’s Mill in Medford, NJ. The family respectfully requests that you wear a mask to protect all of our guests. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home of Medford, NJ. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to New Covenant Ministries, 3B West Holly Ave, Oaklyn, NJ 08107. (www.BradleyStow.com)
