Elaine H. (nee Hulmes) Holberg of Shamong, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16th, 2024 at the age of 91. Born in Woodbury, NJ, she is the daughter of the late William and Edna (nee Redrow) Hulmes and the wife of the late William L. Holberg.
Graduates of Woodbury High School, Elaine (1953) and Bill (1950), never met until later at Kemble United Methodist Church where they both were youth leaders. Music was always a big part of Elaine’s life, including HS Choirs and Choruses, Church Choir, Church organist and Sweet Adelines Chorus.
She dearly loved her family, spending vacation time boating on the Chesapeake Bay and living in England for a year when Bill was transferred, which also included travelling around Great Britain and to several European countries. Elaine also lovingly made quilts for her grandchildren and enjoyed helping others whenever possible.
Elaine had many long time friends, a true testament to her caring and living life to the fullest.
She is the Beloved Mother of Gary (Linda) Holberg, Susan (Kris) Kahoun, Randall (Lori) Holberg, Carol (Steve) Straily and Jo Ellen Holberg. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
