Elizabeth Harrill Obituary

Elizabeth Inez (Webb) Harrill of Shamong, New Jersey, passed away on May 10, 2025. She was 85 years old. Inez was born in Buffalo Valley, Tennessee to Norman and Linnie (Phillips) Webb on June 17, 1939, both who preceded her in death. Her husband of 60 years and love of her life, Gerald Harrill, also preceded her in death. She is survived by two brothers, Lyman Webb of Grand Rapids, MI and Allen (Lea) Webb, of Beaverton, MI; two children, Galen (Zlatka Kovacova) Harrill of Manheim, PA and Nawana Ceraso (Anthony) of Brooklawn, NJ; five grandchildren, Moriah Swenson (Collin), Hannah Battles (Dante), Shiloh Harrill, Isabella Harrill, and Adelle Harrill; and one great-grandchild, Joshua Swenson.

At age five, the Great Depression saw Inez and her parents move to Michigan, where she grew up with aunts and uncles and many of her 47 first cousins. She graduated from Dow High School in Midland, MI, then graduated with her bachelor's degree in Education, having attended both Freed Hardeman College (Henderson, TN) and David Lipscomb College (Nashville, TN). After a year of teaching in MI, she moved to New Jersey and married Gerald Harrill in 1964, having met at Camp Shiloh the previous year while working with inner-city kids. Christian camps were a passion of hers and she took great joy in her 40-plus year service to Camp Manatawny in Douglassville, PA. In 1973, Inez became a Mary Kay consultant, reaching Senior Director level. She continued delivering two weeks prior to her passing; she no longer had customers by that point, she had friends.

Faith and family were the two most important things in Inez’s life, in that order. She loved the church and was a dedicated member of the Tabernacle Church of Christ for over 60 years, having started the Cradle Roll program there and serving on various committees. And, like the apostle John, she took the most joy in seeing her own family love one another. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Inez loved flowers but she loved serving people more. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring her by making a donation to Camp Manatawny, 33 Camp Road, Douglasville, PA 19518 or at (www/manatawny.org).

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 17, from 11 AM to 1:00 PM at the Tabernacle Church of Christ, 160 Carranza Road, Tabernacle. Services will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment is at the Pinelands Memorial Park in Shamong for family only.  (BradleyStow.com)
