ELIZABETH T. “Betty” HICKEY (nee Conners), of Medford, NJ passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021. She was 94 years of age. Born in Bloomfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Richard & Florence Conners and the wife of the late Robert J. Hickey. She resided in Fords NJ for 37 years before moving with her husband to Lakewood NJ. She later made Medford Leas her home beginning in 2014. A Registered Nurse, she finished her nursing training at Georgetown, worked at Jersey City Medical Center, Perth Amboy General Hospital and retired after working for Dr. Eugene Tyrrell in Perth Amboy, NJ. Betty was passionate about her Sunday, Monday Night and Thursday Night Football. She was always ready to entertain and lighten any situation with her quick wit and grand sense of humor. Her family and friends, both old and new were her greatest source of joy. She is predeceased by her daughters Susan Hickey and Carol Fitzgerald (nee Hickey), her brother Richard Conners and is survived by her son Michael Hickey and his wife Mary Lynch of Medford, NJ and her son-in-law Charlie Fitzgerald and her grandchildren: Collin Fitzgerald and his wife Jackie, Brynn Fitzgerald, Micaela Hickey, Meghan Hickey and Keira Fitzgerald. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday September 25th at 10am with a Memorial Service to follow at 11am at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ. Interment will be held on Saturday October 2nd at 11am in the St. Gertrude’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
