Evelyn Dorothy (Alcorn) Peditto

Evelyn Dorothy Peditto (nee Alcorn) of Somers Point, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023.  She was 81 years of age.  “Evie” was born in Atlantic City, and was a life-long resident of Medford Lakes, NJ.  Her heart was always full living near the beach and having the best of friends in Medford Lakes.

Evie was a graduate of Glassboro State College class of 1964, with a degree in Elementary Education. Evie was the “it girl” in college, where she was in the Homecoming Court, and met her husband, Dominic Peditto.  She resided in Medford Lakes, until 1994 where they moved to Somers Point.  Being born at the Shore, she always enjoyed time in the water and the sunshine, frequenting Sea Isle City, Ocean City, and Longport.  She was a tennis player, horseback rider, bridge player, and a creative and thoughtful genius.  Her creative talents showed through during her years as a member of the Odd Couples float group.  She always enjoyed a laugh and loved spreading humor and wit.  Although Evie battled health issues for years, she was always caring, involved, and stayed true to her friends and family.  There was no one up for a party, more than Evie.

Evelyn is the beloved mother of Tom Peditto, Kristy and Kevin McDonald, and Joan Peditto, and adoring grandmother of Shannon and Kayla McDonald, and Jeremy, Julian and Jacob Vanlandingham.

A candlelight vigil will be held on Sunday, April 16th at 6pm.  Please join us to celebrate Evie at the McDonald’s house 115 Wagush Trail, Medford Lakes NJ 08055.
