Frances Elizabeth (Davies) Menice

FRANCES ELIZABETH MENICE (nee Davies) of Southampton, NJ and Madison, NH, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the age of 90 with her family by her side.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Frances Davies.  Fran bravely endured a long battle with Alzheimer ’s Disease for over ten years prior to her death.

Fran grew up in Yeadon Pennsylvania and graduated from Yeadon HS in 1948 where she was known as peppy, spirited, and straightforward.  She spent many years working in her father’s business, Davies Electric, as a bookkeeper. During this time, she had many great adventures and traveled extensively with her life-long best friend Lois Meyers.  Fran met the love of her life, Leonard “Skip” Menice in Medford Lakes, NJ.  They married in 1959 and lived in many locations due to Skip’s career including Los Angeles, Scarborough England, & Kwajalein Marshall Islands in Micronesia.  They eventually settled back in Medford Lakes to finish raising their three daughters.   Her favorite place to be was their home on the lake in New Hampshire where she could swim, sled, and hike.  Fran made every new place feel like home and always volunteered for everything her girls were involved in.  She started every day with a smile and made our world a wonderful place to be.

Fran is survived by her husband of 62 years Leonard Menice, and her children Nancy Ryan (Robert), Valerie Chapman (fiancée Jim) and Jane Lill (Ron).  She was the devoted grandmother of Christopher Haugh (Marry), Heather Galati (Justin), Tori Chapman, Daniel Chapman, Zachary Lill (fiancée Lianna), Elianna Lill, & Maci Ryan.  Fran adored holding her one great-grandson Alexander Galati.  Fran was also a loving aunt to Tanya and Robert Davies of Australia.  Many others, including two sisters-in-law Rosemary & Debbie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will miss her.

Relatives and Friends are invited to greet her family on Thursday, July 15 from 10 AM – 12 PM at the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mount Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055.  Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12 PM.  Interment will be held privately at the B.G.
