Frances Hassett (Hassett) Reed

FRANCES JEAN HASSETT REED, of Shamong, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27th, 2024 at 71 years of age. She was thoughtful, generous, amusingly quick-witted, and fiercely loyal. She was happiest when she could cook for a house full of loved ones. Her absence will be felt deeply by everyone who knew and loved her.

Born in Fort Belvior, VA, she was the daughter of the late Burrell and Leah (nee Kraemer) Hassett and sister of John, Mary, Barbara, and Robert. She was the Beloved Wife of John E. Reed Jr. and the Loving Mother of Pierce, Loralee, and the late Jacob. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Jacob, Nora, and Teddy and her daughter-in-law, Tara.

Frances was a graduate of James Madison University and spent 30+ years as a Special Education Teacher. She retired in 2013 from Indian Mills Elementary School. Her simple pleasures in life were crafting, reading, spending time with family, going to brunch with friends, and eating seafood on the bay in OCMD. She had a knack for making you feel at home and as if you were her own child. We all wish we could have had more time with her.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 from 9:00 - 10:00 am at Fellowship Alliance Church, 199 Church Road in Medford, NJ.  An intimate celebration of life will follow at 10:00 AM for family and close friends. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, Medford, NJ.

In lieu of expressions of sympathy, the family requests memorial donations to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation or the Animal Welfare Association.
