George Franklin Andrews, born March 24, 1932 in Easton, PA, was a son of the late Elwood “Gouge” Andrews and Lillian May (Greenleaf) Andrews. He passed away on December 8, 2024 at the age of 92.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joan E. (Hawthorne) Andrews and his five children; Glenn R. Andrews and wife Mary of Stevensville, MI, Gwyneth E. Andrews of Medford Lakes, NJ, Gary W. Andrews and wife Dolores of Turnersville, NJ, Gerald J. Andrews and wife Becky of Pine Hill, NJ and Gail E. Andrews of Medford Lakes, NJ; a sister, Debra Andrews of Bethlehem, PA; 7 grandchildren; Nikki and Chad; Gregory, Grant and Gina; John and Kelly (Dan Borrelli) and 1 great granddaughter, Lilly.
He is preceded in death by six brothers; Elwood, Richard, William, Nelson and Clifford; four sisters, Lillian Brozman, Blanche Baker, Elizabeth Moore and Sandra Chris; and one grandson, Geoffrey Andrews.
After serving his country for 22 years in the U.S. Army, he worked at Strawbridge & Clothier in Philadelphia, PA as a Data Processing Supervisor. With his wife Joan, he enjoyed his leisure time traveling the country attending Square Dance Conventions. After both retired, he and Joan continued square dancing and spent their summers at Cherry Ridge Campground in Lake Harmony, PA and their winters at Strawberry Square in Plant City, FL
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter, playing pinochle with his competitive sisters, bowling, making leather purses, wallets, etc. for his friends and family. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, December 12th, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Bradley and Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt Holly Road, Medford, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 13th, 2024 at 11:30 am at the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 1 Hartford Road, Medford, NJ. Interment will follow in the B.G. Wm. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
