Gordon Peterson, Jr. Obituary

It is with great love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Norman Peterson Jr., cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Gordon passed away at the age of 80 in his home of 54 years, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and countless treasured memories.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Gordon was the son of the late Gordon Norman Peterson Sr. and Louise Peterson (née Schwartz). Though born in the city, his heart and home were in Medford, NJ, where he was a lifelong resident.

Gordon built a distinguished 40-year career in finance, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Yet his greatest joys were found far from the office—strumming his guitar, listening to music, enjoying dinners with family and friends, playing bridge, and basking in the sunshine by any body of water. Known for his warmth, humor, and easy smile, Gordon had a gift for making everyone feel welcome in his presence.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Peterson (née Donahue); his children, Lisa Peterson Mazzilli (Steven) and Gordon Norman Peterson III (Heather); and his beloved granddaughters, Jenna Filkovski and Giada Mazzilli. He also leaves behind his sister, Lynne Peterson Wynne (Michael), along with many dear friends and extended family who will miss him deeply.

A funeral service will be held at Bradley and Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford–Mount Holly Road, Medford, NJ, on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025, with visitation beginning at 10 o’clock in the morning. All friends and family are welcome to share stories, laughter, and memories as we celebrate his life. For those who wish, floral arrangements may be sent directly to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in his honor to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Institutional Advancement, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111, earmarked for pancreatic cancer research.  https://www.foxchase.org/giving

Though Gordon’s chair at the table may now be empty, the sound of his laughter, the chords of his guitar, and the warmth of his presence will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was a song—joyful, heartfelt, and unforgettable—and we will carry its melody in our souls until we see him again.
