HELEN COLLINS CARRELL of Medford, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022 near friends. She was 93 years of age. Born near Pittsburgh, PA, Helen has resided in Medford for the past 18 years, moving there from Cinnaminson, NJ where she had lived for 30 years. She is the daughter of the late Jerome Collins and the late Hedwig (Berg) Collins. She was the beloved wife of the late R. Michael Carrell for 53 years.
Helen was a renowned organist at Trinity United Methodist Church, and played many other famous organs including the Dickenson Theater Organ in Wilmington, DE and the Wanamaker Organ in Philadelphia, PA. She was a respected organ teacher and founder and past president of the American Guild of Organists. She was a graduate of Westminster Choir College. She was also a pilot and seamstress.
Friends are invited to a greeting on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 36 W. Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ where a Memorial Service will be held following at 11:00 AM. Interment of cremains will follow at Medford Leas, Medford, NJ 08055. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, Medford, NJ. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy donations are requested to Trinity United Methodist Church gotrinity.org
