Hank Taddei passed away peacefully at his Leisuretown, NJ home of 48 years on November 18th, 2023, just nine days shy of his 101st birthday.  He lived an amazing and long life filled with many wonderful people and life experiences.   He was an optimistic man who saw the best in everyone.   Hank was born on November 27, 1922, in Langhorne, PA, the oldest of 4 boys to Charles and Eva (Tomasetti) Taddei.  He had a fantastic childhood in North Hills, PA and grew up loving golf and the Big Band sound.  At both the Earle Theater in Philadelphia and the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, he saw all the great ones including Glenn Miller and his Orchestra, Benny Goodman, and The Dorsey Brothers.  He loved Frank Sinatra and his music and saw him many times at both the Earle Theater and the Steel Pier.

Shortly after graduating from West Catholic High School in 1940, he enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1942 to serve his country during WWII.  He served a tour of duty in Guadalcanal (Solomon Islands) in the Pacific Theater as a member of the III Amphibious Corps achieving the rank of Corporal.   Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he enrolled at La Salle College on the GI Bill and graduated with a BA in Education in 1950.  After graduation, he worked in the insurance industry for several years as a fire insurance underwriter before entering teaching.  He was a dedicated educator for many years at Lenape High School in Medford, NJ teaching English and then as a substitute teacher at the Medford, NJ Campus of the Burlington County Institute of Technology.  He was dedicated to his students and fellow teachers.

Hank lived an active lifestyle for many years in Leisuretown.  As an avid golfer, he was a member of the Golf Club including winning the individual championship.  His love for golf also took him to Myrtle Beach, SC, Destin FL, as well as to Bermuda to play.  He was a member of the Tennis Club and loved spending many of his summers at the pool with friends.  His world travels also included him going to London, England as well as a trips to Rome, Naples, and Casalattico, Italy.   He loved meeting new people no matter where he went, as well as catching up with family and friends as he could strike up a conversation with anybody.  Hank was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and watched as many of their games as possible.

In addition to being preceded in death by his parents, Hank was also predeceased by his bothers William Taddei of Abington, PA and Joseph Taddei of Glenside PA.  He is survived by his youngest brother James (Carole) Taddei of Marco Island, FL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

To honor Hank, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In Lieu of flowers, his family would prefer contributions be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars at
