Hank Schilling is the son of the late Henry W. Schilling Sr. and Rosine Werner Schilling of Philadelphia, Pa. He was a honor student and varsity tennis player and swimmer at Northeast Public High School. He was an Eagle Scout, an assistant scout master and a corporeal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and played varsity lacrosse, two Masters’ Degrees from Rowan University and accreditation in school counseling. He spent forty years working for the Cherry Hill Board of Education, first as a biology teacher at the West high School and later as a school counselor at the East high school. He was coach of a championship boys’ tennis team and co-founder of the girls’ lacrosse program at West. He was an assistant girls’ lacrosse coach at Moorestown High School contributing to nine league, county, and S. Jersey championships and five State championships. Hank was the co-founder and co-owner of the Ceramic Barn in Mt. Laurel. His passion was the beautification of his two acres in Mt. Laurel, his Koi pond and his German Shepherds.
Hank is survived by his wife, Lynn of 59 years, two sons Douglas (Qui) of Cinnaminson, and Kent W. of Long Valley, N.J., a grandson, Ryan, and granddaughter, Riely, of Long Valley.
It was Hank’s request that all final arrangements be private.
