Irene B (Bastkowski) Hoos

IRENE B. HOOS (nee Bastkowski), of Leisuretowne, Southampton, N.J., passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at age 89. Born in South River, NJ, the daughter of the late Adam and Louise Bastkowski and wife of the late John Boraczewski and the late Joseph Hoos.  Irene was a long time employee of NJ Bell Telephone as an operator and later an Administrative Clerk retiring in 1984 after 30 years with the company.  She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, a Past President of the Holy Family PTA, a member of St. Cecilia’s Choir and a Board member and volunteer for T.O.U.C.H. for 28 years.  She is the Beloved Mother of Joanne Hall and her husband William Sr. of Southampton, NJ and Linda Dowling and her husband Christopher Sr. of Cape May Court House, NJ.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Ken Hall (Stephanie), William Hall Jr. (Ava), Christopher Dowling Jr. (Jessica) and Megan Dowling and her great grandchildren Mackenzie, Leo and Sophie Hall and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She is the sister of Jean Coar and the late Robert Coar of Ocean, NJ and Mary Eib and her husband Frank of South River, NJ, the step-mother of Lori Hoos, Glen Hoos (Nancy) and the late Gary Hoos and his wife Suzanne and the step-grandmother of Zachary, Cameron and Abigail Hoos.  The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Masonic Village for their care and support.  Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, Feb. 21st, from 10-11 a.m. at the St. Mary of the Lakes Church, 40 Jackson Road, Medford, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m.  Interment will be private in the St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.  In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family requests Memorial Donations to T.O.U.C.H, 102 South Plymouth Court, Southampton, NJ 08088.  Funeral arrangements are by the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, Medford, N.J.
