Jean Marie Wessendorf (nee Handy) of Medford, NJ, passed away on Sunday 18DEC22. She was 56 years of age. Jean was born in Camden, NJ to Dolores (nee Cardenas) and James Q. Handy.
Just a few of her hobbies included dancing, live music, and hanging with family. Some of her favorite bands range from The Village People and Michael Jackson, to Bruce Springsteen, to local bands like Don’t Call Me Francis. If there was a dancefloor nearby, you could guarantee she’d be on it.
Jean was the kind of soul who could walk into a room full of strangers and leave with 5 new best friends. No matter who you were, or who called at what time, Jean was always there to extend a hand to help in any capacity.
Flag Captain in her high school, she never missed an opportunity to review her routine, to see if she still “had it”. She did.
Jean was committed to her career at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, and those she worked with. It became a second home and family to her.
Jean is the loving mother of Carl, and Michael (Devon), dear sister of Debbie Bowman and Tracey House, and survived by many nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on December 27 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm in the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations are requested to Deborah Heart and Lung Center 212 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015 (www.deborahfoundation.org).
