Joan A. (Smith) Czyzyk

Joan Ann Czyzyk (nee Smith), age 90, of Rocky River, OH, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025. Joan is the beloved wife of the late Raymond Czyzyk, loving mother of John Czyzyk and spouse Theresa, Diane Bacher and spouse Douglas, and Kenneth Czyzyk and spouse Katherine. She was the proud and doting grandmother of Kristi Harding and spouse Jeffrey, Gregory Bacher and spouse Laura, Kyle Bacher and spouse Maggie, Cara Bacher and partner Philip Weigel, Michelle Kilbane and spouse Ryan Kilbane, Emily Czyzyk and Kelsey Czyzyk. Joan was also the loving great grandmother to her babies, Emmy and Duke Bacher. Joan was the dear sister of Diane Kopp, Estelle Giosa and spouse Edward, the late Dorothy Carberry and her late spouse, Vincent. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Madeline Wells and Barbara Czyzyk and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joan was born in Philadelphia, PA. to Estelle (nee McHugh) and John Smith.  

She spent most of her life in southern New Jersey with her husband Ray raising their family.  In the later years of her life, Joan spent time living in FL, and then in Rocky River, OH, where she spent her final years having fun with her large, Ohio family and friends. 

Joan loved spending time with her family and friends, was an avid reader, watched drama series on tv, loved to shop and loved to play bingo, cards and dominoes with her family and friends.  She lived for the holidays, especially Christmas, elaborately decorating her home and giving piles of gifts to family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 10-11am in the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ, 08055. A funeral service will be held at 11am. Interment will follow in the BG William Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ, 08562 at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Village Project, 27378, West Oviatt Road, Bay Village, Ohio, 44140. ourvillageproject.com  This organization supports cancer patients and their families in the Rocky River/Bay Village, OH area. This organization was very helpful to Joan and was near and dear to her heart.
