Joseph Halligan II Obituary

Joseph H. Halligan, II of Medford, NJ, passed away on June 19, 2021 at Virtua Hospital Marlton, NJ. He was 82 years of age. Born in Dubois PA he was the Son of the late Herbert I and Marie (nee Murphy) Halligan of Ohio and Dubois, PA. Joseph grew up in Dubois, Ohio, and later resided in Wilmington, DE. He attended Salesianum School in Wilmington. He graduated from La’Salle University in Philadelphia before becoming associated with The IBM Company where he was trained to be technically involved with the IBM Mainframes. He later became involved in sales with newer IBM operating systems. Joe was also a member of The Air National Guard. Even into his late seventies Joe continued to be very active working as a project manager consultant both in Hawaii and Saudi Arabia. Joe was an active member of The Honolulu Club where he had a passion for fitness including running marathons. Joe was a great fan of reading computer technology manuals. He was always on “The leading edge”. He enjoyed his home by keeping a beautiful manicured lawn, a crystal clear swimming pool and took an occasional pool dip as long as the water was warm. He especially loved “puttering” and “Tinkering” around the house. He is the Beloved Husband of 45 years to Leila (nee Love) Halligan of Pittsburgh, PA. Westport, CT. and Kauai, Hawaii prior to moving to Medford, NJ. Joe is the Loving Father of Katherine M. (nee Halligan) Li of Honolulu, Hawaii, Joseph(“KIP”) H. Halligan,III preceded in death from Wilmington, DE and Berlin, Germany, Holly A. Halligan of Medford, NJ and Step Son, Blair S. Brownell of Wilmington, DE., A Sister Betty Ann(nee Halligan) Herman, A Brother Daniel Halligan preceded in death from Bakersfield, CA , A Brother In Law preceded in death Harry Herman,II of Pennsauken, NJ. Joe has many nieces and nephews from New Jersey and one from Delaware. His Sister- In- Law Robin (nee Love)Tarello, a Brother- in- Law preceded in death, Paul R. Tarello and a nephew Christopher R. Tarello from Brick, NJ. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, Medford, NJ. In Lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family requests memorial donations to the ICU unit of Virtua Hospital Marlton, 90 Brick Road, Evesham Township, NJ 08053.  (www.BradleyStow.com)
