Josephine Mattes Obituary
Josephine A. Mattes (nee Rametta), age 100, of Southampton, NJ passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. She was born in Newark, NJ to Alice (nee Magri) and Carmelo Rametta.
Josephine loved to travel with her husband Norbert during retirement. She also loved walking, playing cards, boating, puzzles and cooking, especially cooking freshly caught fish for her family at their home on Long Beach Island.
Josephine is the beloved wife of the late Norbert, loving mother of Charles, Raymond (Sue), and Alice Smacinski, adoring grandmother of Lauren Shirel, Christopher Mattes and Sarah Mattes, dear sister of Mary and the late Carmen. She is also survived by five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Josephine will be buried with her husband Norbert at Arlington National Cemetery, 1 Memorial Avenue, Arlington, VA 22211 on February 25, 2025 at 11AM
