June Andel Obituary

June Andel, age 90, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2021. June was born in Milwaukee, WI, the only child of Emil and Irma. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin and was a proud Badger all her life. While working full time and raising her children she later earned a masters degree in library science from Drexel University.

After graduating from college in 1951, June moved to New York City, where she met Carter McCall, in Carnegie Hall, both playing flute in the Balalaika Symphony. They married in 1956 and eventually left New York and moved to Philadelphia.

June met Marvin Falcon in the early 1980’s after moving to the Lehigh Valley, and they enjoyed a nearly 40 year relationship that began with their love of music. They were a flute and guitar duo, and played together for many years. June loved being a librarian, playing and teaching the flute, collecting lighthouses, college basketball, Star Trek (Next Generation), cooking for friends and family, and was an extremely proud grandmother (Baba).

She had a generous spirit and for many years baked Christmas Breads (a Bohemian bread Vanocka) and mailed/delivered them to all her friends and family, a process that usually began in the Fall.

June is survived by her children, Beth (Frank) and Robb (Pauline), and 3 grandsons, Elliot Clement, Harrison Clement and Xander McCall.
