Kenneth Joseph Krohel, age 67, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on May 19, 2022. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 42 years, Helen Heaney; his pride and joy, daughter, Kelly Krohel; his sister, Valerie Pullen and husband Roger; his brother, Ben Solomon and wife, Ginger; and his niece/Godchild, Becky Pullen Wright. His parents, Sylvester and Regina Krohel, predeceased him.
Kenny, as most family and friends called him, was born on January 30,1955 in Point Pleasant, NJ. He grew up in Brick, NJ and graduated from Brick Township High School in 1974.
In 1980, Kenny and Helen moved to Florida, residing first in Indian Rocks Beach where their daughter was born, before moving to St. Petersburg where, after a course of time, he died.
Kenny was known as a “Jack of all Trades”. He loved working with his hands and could repair just about anything. He enjoyed sharing his skills with others. He was an extraordinary artist who loved to draw since early childhood. A sketchbook was always by his side. He used his artistic ability to repair and design jewelry for several years, among other things.
Kenny was a talented fisherman, even holding a few records. He created beautiful custom fishing rods and was an expert at tying flies, both of which became a modest business.
Kenny was a great friend to all and will be sorely missed. Interment will be private. For those who wish to donate in Kenny’s honor, contributions may be made to: ABEL, P.O. Box 9663, Providence, RI 02940-9696.
