Lester F. Hodgson, of Southampton, NJ, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. He was 88 years of age. Born in Vincentown, NJ, he was the son of the late George and Anna (nee Severs) and preceded in death by his brothers George, William and Thomas. Les was a member of the US Army National Guard and enjoyed his high school years as a standout baseball player, signing with the minor leagues as a pitcher in 1954. He spoke fondly of the many years he spent as a co-owner and operator of Hodgson’s Service Stations, along with his four brothers. Les was known for his sense of humor and witty charm. He loved shooting pool, fishing, LBI, boating and living on the water.
He is the Beloved Father of Lisa Hiller, Tracy Kaplan (Geoffrey), Heather Russo and a proud grandfather. He is survived by his brother Jack and long time, devoted companion Linda Haines.
Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside services on Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Jr. Mechanic’s Cemetery on Carranza Road, Tabernacle, NJ. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, Medford, NJ.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue - GSP Rescue of NJ, P.O. Box 131, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 in honor of Les’s beloved dog Rocky.
