Linda Gambarani Obituary

Linda Jane Gambarani (née Frary), 85, of Marlton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2026.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Linda was the cherished daughter of Elizabeth Caroline (née Van Cleft) and Randolph Sherwood Frary. She was predeceased by treasured husband, John Louis Gambarani and her beloved brother, Donald Van Cleft Frary.

Linda was raised in Garden City, New York, where she attended Garden City High School. She went on to pursue her calling in nursing, studying at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing and Southern Connecticut State College, where she earned her registered nursing degree. Her passion for learning led her to continue her education at Albertus Magnus College, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1983.

Linda devoted her professional life to caring for others. She served as Assistant Head Nurse of Pediatrics at Yale–New Haven Hospital before becoming Head Nurse of Pediatrics, a role she held with compassion, leadership, and dedication until her retirement.

Beyond her career, Linda found great joy in the kitchen.  An avid cook and baker, she expressed her love through food, delighting family and friends with her meals and especially her holiday feasts and desserts. Her kitchen was truly the heart of her home.

Above all, Linda cherished her marriage. For 37 years, she was the devoted and loving partner to her late husband, John; they navigated their life together with humor, deep respect, and an unbreakable bond. They shared a home first in Medford and later in Marlton, New Jersey. They treasured time spent with family and friends, lively bridge games, and relaxing summer vacations in North Carolina.

Linda will be remembered as a devoted wife, a caring family member, and a woman of warmth, generosity, and quiet strength. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews: Karen (John Jr.) Gambarani; Lauren Frary; Eric (Tracy) Frary, children of her late brother Donald and Jeannette Titus Frary. She is also survived by her stepchildren: Gary (Janet) Gambarani; Adrienne (Rudy) Basso; and John Jr. (Karen) Gambarani, children of John and the late Gloria DeStefanis Gambarani. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends, all of whom will deeply miss her presence in their lives.

Linda’s kindness, dedication to others, and love of family will be carried forward by all who knew her.
