Mabel Chestnut Obituary

Mabel Sarah Chestnut (nee Smith), age 91, of Medford, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025. She was born in Chatsworth, NJ to Helen (nee Yates) and Roland Smith.

Mabel was an animal lover, especially of dogs and had many dogs in her lifetime. Any visitor to her home would know of this love when they saw the many dog figurines through out the house. She also enjoyed her weekend trips to Atlantic City with her son, George.

Mabel is the beloved wife of the late George L. Chestnut, loving mother of George D. Chestnut (Heidi) and Brenda Chambers (Kenneth), adoring grandmother of Alex Chambers (Rikki), great-grandmother of Aaliyah Chambers and Madison Drinkard, dear sister of Bety Leili (Keith). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brothers, Benjamin and Carlton and sisters, Anna DeMore (Kenneth), Mary Gaskill (Arthur), Doris Chmura (Paul).

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holy Road, Medford, NJ 08055. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Jr. Mechanics Cemetery, 133 Carranza Rd, Tabernacle, NJ 08088.
