MICHAEL JOSEPH HOUSTON SR, of Southampton, NJ, passed away on Sunday, August 7th, 2022. He was 72 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he is the son of the late Henry Joseph and Anne Rose (nee Baumgartel) Houston and has resided in Southampton for 45 years.
Michael was the owner of Futuristic in Philadelphia, PA, a Cash Register sales, service and supplies company. He was also known as Captain of the Town Watch, the local mechanic, the squirt gun man at the church fair, and the Music man, playing his drums with many bands, for all who would listen. His favorite names to be known as were G-Pop, Pop-Pop and Pop, by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is the Beloved husband of Patricia A. (nee Harner) Houston of Southampton, NJ and the Loving Father of Deanne Valenza and her husband Joseph of Marlton, NJ, Michael Houston and his wife Krista of Southampton, NJ, Michele Brogan of Maple Shade, NJ, David Houston and his wife Sarah Lynne of Chesapeake, VA, Heather Houston of Maple Shade, NJ, and (proceeded by) Christopher M. Houston.
He is also the loving grandfather of Vincent Bisignano, Noel Burke (Peter), Catherine McErlane (Hunter), Julianna Valenza-Fish (Alexander), Kimberly Valenza (Tyler), Jake Houston, Edward Ashman (Maria), Gabrielle Ashman (Matthew), Alexis Ashman, Matthew Dott, Naome Frederick (Ryan), Izabelle Houston (Kyle), Jose Cortez, Elijah Houston, Christopher D. Houston, Damien Houston and 10 Great Grandchildren, Peter IV, Axel, Darcy, Anthony, Dominic, Elaina, Gianna, Benjamin, Adlynne, and Chance.
He is also survived by his siblings, Henry (Delores) Houston, Anne McGinnis, Joan Gordon, Patsy Wardlow, Joseph Burns, Mary Helt-Houston, John (Louise) Houston, Joseph Houston, Paul (Loretta) Houston, Edmund (Louise) Houston. He will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Proceeded by, Albert McGinnis, Art Gordon, Lelia McGinnis, Thomas and Penny Houston, Sonny Wardlow, Mary Burns, James Houston, and Peggy Houston.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, August 19th, 2022 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ, where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
