Pauline G. Schnepf “Polly”
Pauline G. Schnepf, affectionately known as Polly, a retired educator from the Lenape Regional High School system, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 93. She was the devoted wife of the late Henry L. Schnepf Sr.
Born and raised in Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs, Polly graduated from the University of Delaware and furthered her education at Glassboro State College, where she earned her teaching credentials.
Perhaps best known for her culinary prowess, Polly was a distinguished member of the Philadelphia Culinary Society. She also penned a column for the local paper, The Central Record, for twenty years. Polly extended her passion for cooking by teaching classes, reviewing cookbooks, and serving as a judge in local competitions.
Beyond her culinary interests, Polly had a lifelong love for dance. In her college years, she showcased her talents in dance, even earning the title of Miss Wilmington, DE by incorporating dance as her talent. Later, she shared her passion by teaching dance and managing a small dance studio in Newark, DE.
A dedicated genealogy enthusiast, Polly actively participated in the William Penn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In May of 2023, her 20 years of service to the organization were honored. Polly's diligent research allowed her to trace her ancestry back to the Mayflower crossing of 1620.
Pauline is survived by her daughter Phyllis and sons Henry Jr. and Eric, along with their respective spouses: Russell Cooper, Melinda Schnepf, and Patrice Pellecchia. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jon, Kurt, and Heather, along with their spouses.
