Raymond Passaro, Sr., born June 28, 1935, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by his loving family, including his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ray proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a full-time reservist in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He served as a flight engineer and took great pride in his work, often saying that he "never lost a plane." Following his retirement from the Air Force, he continued his service as a federal government employee.
Above all else, Ray's greatest joy was his family. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was proud of each of them. He had a lifelong love of animals and airplanes and developed an early interest in personal computers. Long before computers became commonplace, he enjoyed building computers for family members and was always willing to help with computer questions or home improvement projects. He also enjoyed model railroading. Christmas was his favorite time of year, and he loved celebrating the holidays with his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith.
He is survived by his sons, Raymond Passaro, Jr. (Beth) and Michael Passaro (Sandra); his daughter, Marialaina Hoban; his stepdaughter, Meghan Scargle; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
A greeting of the family will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lakes Roman Catholic Church, 40 Jackson Road, Medford, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass celebrating Ray's life will follow at 11AM. Ray's family and friends are welcome to attend.
Arrangements under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055.
