Raymond Rock Obituary

Raymond William Rock, age 85 years, of Southampton, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Ray was born in Manhattan, NY to Irene (nee Thomas) and James Rock.

Raymond is the beloved husband of Judy (nee Johnston), loving father of Debbie and Bill, and Jenniffer and Rich, adoring grandfather of Stephanie (Dylan), Hayley, Christopher and Mackenzie and great grandfather of Brynley Paige, dear brother of James (Muriel), George (Terry) and Irene (Alex). He had many loving nieces and nephews.

Ray lived a life full of love and cherished traditions. A proud veteran who faithfully served in the Air Force and Air National Guard, his patriotism was unwavering. He found joy in simple pleasures like bowling, playing cards or games on his computer, but his greatest happiness came from time spent with family, especially during his favorite season—Christmas. Known as the best "gift guesser" in the family, he reveled in the warmth of holiday gatherings and the joy of watching the faces of his children and grandchildren as they opened their goodies. Lake George held a special place in his heart, where he spent countless summers and made it a family tradition to "Christen" each new grandbaby in its waters. Ray had a deep love of cars and owned a whopping 34 in his lifetime, each one bringing him excitement and pride, with one special Corvette that held the top spot in his heart. In their late 50s, he and Judy embraced the open road, traveling in their RV across America and into Canada with the excitement of teenagers discovering the world for the first time. Later in life, he developed a love for cruising, where as long as warm bread kept coming, he was content...all he kept saying was “what’s not to love” about cruising! But above all, Ray’s greatest joy was simply being with his beloved wife, Judy. Their love was timeless—a storybook romance that inspired all who knew them.
