RICHARD N. LACOVARA SR., of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27th, 2021, at the age of 82. Born in Camden, NJ to the late Peter & Lena Lacovara, he has resided in Little Egg Harbor for the past 20 years, moving there from Mt. Laurel and Marlton, NJ where he lived for 33 years. A retired Asst. Principal with the Cherry Hill BOE, Richard worked in education for 40 years. He received his Bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University and his Master’s degree from Temple University and started his career in 1961 at the Magnolia Jr. High School. He was later the Asst. Principal at Heritage Jr. School in Cherry Hill, NJ which also became the Rosa Int’l Middle School before moving to Cherry Hill East as an Asst. Principal. While in Little Egg Harbor, Rich was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 14615 and a member of the Little Egg Harbor Republican Club. He served on the Citizens on Patrol, the Community Emergency Response Team and was a Docent at the Tuckerton Seaport Museum. He is the Beloved Husband of 60 years to Mary Sue (Nee Jennings) Lacovara and the Loving Father of Richard Lacovara Jr. and his wife Katrina of Medford, NJ and Marysue Flaherty and her husband Michael of Voorhees, NJ. He is also survived by his 5 Grandchildren Michael and Patrick Flaherty and Abigail, Alex and Annalise Lacovara. Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family on Thursday, Dec. 2nd, 2021, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME of Medford, NJ. Interment will be private in the Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, NJ.
