Richard Livingston Obituary

Richard Bruce Livingston, 83, of Medford, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Rich is survived by his three children, Bryan (Nicole) Livingston, Kerry (Ron) Floyd, and Amanda (Nick) Frake; and grandchildren, Spencer, Ava, Zach, Tyler, Andrew, and Charlie. His pride in being “Pop Pop” to these six incredible grandkids was immeasurable!

Rich will not only be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends, but also for his unrivaled work ethic, years of volunteer service, masterful storytelling abilities, and being a jack of all trades. Rich would share endless stories of his younger days gone by, including street racing his 64 Chevy Impala 409 convertible and 69 Dodge Charger 440, bowling a handful of perfect 300 games, countless jumps parachuting out of airplanes, dancing on American Bandstand, and adventures in lifeguarding “down the shore.”

After he married his late wife, Connie Livingston, they moved to Lake Pine in Medford to raise their family. Rich was a powerhouse when it came to multitasking. He managed to balance family life and work life (as a dependable, full-time employee with Lakes Appliance), along with his passion for philanthropy. He spent years volunteering as an EMT with Lakes Emergency Squad, serving on the Medford Youth Athletic Association Board, and serving as an active member, and at one time, President of Lake Pine Colony Club. Rich also enjoyed years as a proud member of the Homers (Handsome Older Men), a group of men who did a multitude of volunteer work around South Jersey. He was ALWAYS ready to help out anyone who needed it and was reliable and compassionate to his core.

The Livingstons hit the jackpot living on Forest Avenue. Neighbors became family and were so good to Rich, especially after Connie’s passing. They included him, checked in on him, and stepped up to help when he needed it most. The whole family is forever grateful for our magical experiences growing up and growing older in Lake Pine.

Rich (“Big Rich”) will be forever missed and loved and remembered for the absolute legend that he was. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made online at www.samaritannj.org or mailed to Samaritan’s Gift Processing Center-P.O. Box 71425, Philadelphia, PA 19176-1425. We hold Samaritan very close to our hearts for the gentle care and dignity they provided both our mother and father in their final days.

The family will be honoring Rich’s well-lived life privately.
