Robert Anthony Scariato

In loving memory of Anthony Robert Scariato. 

Anthony was born in Old Forge, PA to his parents Anthony and Theresa. He graduated Hackensack High School in 1953 and continued his education at Wagner College in Long Island, NY. His passion was baseball, and was a member of the Detroit Tigers Farm System.  In 1956, he also was the starting shortstop for the Durham Bulls. He ultimately entered the Bergen County Baseball Hall of Fame.  Anthony worked as a forman at General Motors, before retiring at age 59. He became involved in mentoring young athletes in baseball. His hobbies included pool and bowling, as well as organizing bus trips in the Leisuretown community where he resided.

Anthony is survived by his 3 children, Cynthia Moretti (Sam Moretti), Robert Scariato, and Jennifer Minnick (Joseph Minnick), predeceased by his wife Paticia Maresse, grandchildren Patrick Bowden, Valerie Bowden, and her son Adrian, Christopher Scariato, Samuel Minnick (Angel Minnick) Matthew Minnick, and fiancé Madeline Bramlett.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, July 9th, 2026 from 9:00 to 11:00AM at the Bradley & Stow  Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd, Medford, NJ 08055. Funeral service to follow at 11:00AM. Interment will be on Friday, July10th, 2026 at Old Forge Cemetery, Old Forge, PA.  18518
