Stanley “Stan” Phillips Boyd passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023, at the age of 82, in Camden, New Jersey.
Stan was born June 13, 1941, to Howard Phillips Boyd and Doris Gwendolyn (Fowler) Boyd, in Lowell, Massachusetts. He was a Rutgers University graduate who continued his education by earning his Masters degree from Glassboro State College. Stan was a dedicated teacher, principal and administrator for the Camden, NJ school district for 30 years. His influence extended far beyond the classroom, as he touched the lives of countless students and colleagues, leaving an indelible mark on the educational landscape of his community. Stan was also an avid woodworker, carpenter and antiques dealer, using his skills to help friends and family all of his life.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Stan was a loving and caring father to his two daughters, Sharon Garcia of Barto, PA, and Cheryl Disque-Donise of Tabernacle, NJ, and their respective spouses, Andrew Garcia and Anthony S. Donise III. His role as a grandfather brought immense joy to his life, as he is survived by eight adoring grandchildren, Rob Donise, of Philadelphia, PA, Jordan Garcia, of Chico, CA, Andrew Garcia and wife Katie, of Bath, PA, Taylor Garcia, of Philadelphia, PA, Anthony S. Donise, IV, Colby Donise, Ryan Disque and Kayla Disque, all of Tabernacle, NJ, and two cherished great-grandchildren, Atalie Garcia and Brogan Garcia, both of Bath, PA. He is also survived by his sister, Gwendolyn (Boyd) Campbell, of Gainsville, FL, and several nieces and a nephew, William G. Cornwall, III, of Shamong, NJ.
Stan's heart was forever entwined with that of his late wife, Claire Winifred (Cornwall) Boyd. Together, they shared a love that spanned the ages and created a family united by a deep bond of affection and support.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and grandson, Nicholas A. Garcia.
As we bid farewell to Stanley Phillips Boyd, we remember a life well-lived, filled with love, humor, duty, and a relentless commitment to education and family. His legacy will endure in the hearts and minds of those he touched, and his memory will forever be cherished.
