Susan Rebel (nee DiChiara) of Bonita Springs, Florida passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023. She was 90 years of age.  Susan was born in Philadelphia PA. to Victoria (nee Malone) and Auriello DeChiara.   

Sue lived and raised her family in Medford NJ.  She is predeceased by her husband Norman Charles Rebel. 

Norman and Susan had four children together John Victor (deceased),  Norman Charles Rebel Jr. (Janet) of Lindenwold NJ, Susan Elizabeth Pennisi (John) of Bonita Springs FL, and Barbara Jean Rebel Wisener (Craig) of Lahaina Hi.

Susan had 6 Grandchildren: John A. Pennisi, Melissa L. Rebel, Kristin M. Pennisi Hanshaw (Kyle), Laura C. Pennisi, Margaret S. Pennisi Rode (William), Mathew J. Rebel.  And six Great Grandchildren Sophia and Anika Garner and Isla Gambrel, Hunter and Rosalie Rode and Nora Hanshaw. 

Susan had 2 sisters Florence Arick (deceased) and Rosalie Peck. 

Susan loved her family, friends and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was an active competitive roller skater earning a place twice at the United States National Championships.  Susan was an accomplished seamstress upholstering furniture, making quilts, wedding dress, clothing, skating, dance and Halloween costumes for her daughters and friends.  She was still quilting at 90.  Some of her hobbies over the year included knitting, crocheting, archery, water skiing, reading and traveling.   A devout Catholic, she attended Saint Mary of the Lakes Church where she taught catechism and sewed vestments for the priests and baptismal gowns .  

Susan delighted in showing off her flexibility, the day before she passed, she proudly showed the nurses how she could still touch her toes.

Susan and Norman loved to travel.  They visited all 50 states, the Caribbean, Central America, North America, Europe and Africa.  

She always believed that God was watching over us and that he would always answer her prayers. 

A viewing will be held on Friday May 19, 2023 at 10am followed by A Mass Of Christian Burial at St. Mary Of The Lakes Church 40 Jackson Road, Medford, NJ. 08055

Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park 1300 Route 130N Cinnaminson, NJ. 08077
