THEODORE GORDON, of Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10th, 2026. He was 88 years of age. Born in Hockenheim, Germany, he is the son of the late Major John L. Gordon and the late Elizabeth (nee Schmetzer) Gordon and has resided in Southampton for 60 years.
A retired Teacher with the Northern Burlington County Regional High School, he taught for 25 years and was a well-known winning wrestling coach and was inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame. After his retirement, Ted pursued his passion as a Botanist in the South Jersey Pinelands Area. He served as a Pinelands Commissioner, the chairman of Southampton Township’s Planning Board, and a charter member of the Southampton Historical Society. He received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and attended graduate classes at Princeton and Stanford. Ted was a veteran of the US Army National Guard.
He is the Beloved Husband of Patricia Ann (nee Brady) Gordon of Southampton, NJ and would have celebrated their 64th anniversary on June 23rd. He is the Loving Father of Sherry Manka, Matthew Gordon and wife Jennifer, and Erich Gordon and wife JoAnne, Grandfather of Jeffrey Manka, Jacquelyn Manka, Daniel Manka, Alexis Belbin, Shane Gordon, Ryan Gordon and Connor Gordon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Sunday, May 17th, 2026 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ and on Monday, May 18th, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Eucharist, 520 Medford Lakes Road, Tabernacle, NJ, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
