THOMAS JOSEPH O’BRIEN JR. of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024 at the age of 71. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and is the son of the late Thomas J. and Anna (nee Crowley) O’Brien and is survived by brother Michael O’Brien (and nephews Daniel and Matthew).
His battle with medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile always on his face. His sense of humor (and text messages) were always a shining light amongst his family and friends and his endless love showed that despite what doctors said, his heart was stronger than anyone could ever put into words.
Tom married the love of his life, his beloved wife, Anita L. (nee Fecker) of Southampton, NJ in 1974. Anita stayed by his side until the very end, just shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. He was extremely proud to be a veteran of the US Marine Corp serving during the Vietnam War. For a large part of his life, Tom was also a Truck Driver for Novick Brothers in Philadelphia, PA. As a Philly sports fan all his life, Tom was thrilled to be able to make it in person with his son to see the Phillies in the World Series in 2022.
Tom is also loving father to sons Kevin O’Brien (wife Amy O’Brien) of Horsham, PA and Thomas M. O’Brien of Southampton, NJ. But, he may have been most proud to hold the title of Pop Pop to his granddaughters Riley and Reagan O’Brien. He is loved and survived by many more nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, May 9th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ, where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in the BG Wm. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
