Thomas R Whalen

THOMAS R. WHALEN, of Medford, NJ, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 at the age of 86. Born in Camden, NJ, he is the son of the late Charles R. and Catherine (nee McCreedy) Whalen and the husband of the late Barbara (nee Abrams) Whalen. He resided in Medford, NJ for most of his life, having grown up on the family dairy farm.

Tom is a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with the Local 825 Operating Engineers Union. He worked for Lafferty Asphalt, National Paving and was the owner and operator of Whalen Trucking.

He is the beloved Father of Jeffrey Whalen (Kimberly) of Indian Mills, NJ, Susan Fox (Shawn) of Acworth, GA and Brenda Yost (Jeff) of Haddonfield, NJ and is also survived by his grandchildren Josh Fox, Emily Fox, Zach Fox, Jayne Yost, Tory Yost and his longtime loving companion Irene Kelly of Medford, NJ.

Tom was a hard worker, a good friend, loving father and grandfather, with a great smile and one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, July 15th, 2024 from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at the Parkview Cemetery in Medford Village, NJ.
